FRANKFURT – BEATING HEART OF THE EURO

Best known as a banking hub, home to the world’s largest book trade fair, legendary poet Goethe and, of course, sausages, Frankfurt is actually full of surprises.

Germany’s financial center, Frankfurt is jokingly nicknamed ‘Mainhattan’ due to the many skyscrapers designed by the likes of Ghery and Foster. Its skyline which includes some of Europe’s tallest buildings sits pretty beyond the Main’s peaceful riverbanks where cyclists, joggers and skaters vie for space with market stalls and tourists en route to the city’s fine museums.

There is more to Frankfurt than meets the eye. Beyond its 300 odd banks and being the official beating heart of the Euro, you’ll find Frankfurt isn’t as boring as it seems. Distinctly Deutschland knows where the gems are hidden! Trawl the charming squares, the shaded chestnut alleys, the museums

or the great shops off the mainstream shopping arcades or let us treat you to lunch at one of the city’s stylish roof-top restaurants for amazing views or a sundown drink in that 22nd floor piano bar we love to go to.
