Forget boring palaces and dull history, this is one historical site that is an exception: fun, quirky and unusual. The “trick” fountains or ‘Water games’ were designed by Salzburg’s prince bishop Marcus Sitticus in 1613 to take his intrusive guests for a ride – and are amusing visitors to this day. Still hilarious and really quite an amazing engineering feat, given the fact it was built 400 years ago!
Definitely one of our top family attractions in Salzburg.
