On October 31st 1517, a young and rebellious monk by the name of Martin Luther nailed his famous 95 Theses to the wooden door of the imposing castle church in Wittenberg – challenging the practices of the Catholic Church – and ushering in the Reformation movement that would subsequently spread around the world.
In 2017 Germany celebrated the 500th anniversary of these historic events. Since, the crowds have moved on, and you can visit all the relevant historic sites with only your DD expert guide for company.
A special Reformation Anniversary Itinerary will allow you to follow in the footprints of Martin Luther and give you a first-hand understanding of the events, causes, sites and key players of the early day of Reformation. Definitely not a ‘bible tour’, but rather a discovery aimed at the discerning traveler looking for a unique, authentic and insightful experience and for those fascinated by Reformation history who also appreciate travelling in style.
